William Robert Kinross

William Robert Kinross (Bob), 85, of Pleasant Grove passed away surrounded by his family and friends March 15, 2013 in Provo, Utah. He was born June 9, 1927 to William Andrew and Francis Geneva Wiley Kinross in Lynndyl, Utah. He was the third born of five children being the eldest son.
He attended school in Lynndyl and graduated from Milford High School toward the end of WWII where he was active in all sports and participated in a dance band. He then enlisted and proudly served in the US Navy during the Pacific theater. On returning he married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Ann Anderson, November 1, 1946. Together they raised their two sons; Russell and Rick in Springville, until her passing March 23, 1977.
Bob met and married Claire McCammon Hayes in 1978. They lived together in Pleasant Grove for more than 32 years until she passed away in 2011.
He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 40 years, retiring in 1986. After retirement he and Claire traveled around the country in their RV with their two dogs that they loved. They enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and all family activities. He loved watching Jazz basketball, golfing with his family and friends.
He also loved his garden and taking care of his yard.
Bob was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He often told of being baptized in the Sevier River, near Lynndyl.
He is survived by his sons; Russell (Elaine) of Orem and Rick of Salt Lake City and stepson, Corey (Alice) Hayes of Georgetown, Idaho. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by both wives, Parents, siblings and one stepson.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 12 noon in the Evergreen Cemetery, off of Highway 89 at 1997 South 400 East, Springville, Utah. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. in the Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
The family would like to thank Health Watch Home Care, Carl Lopez and his nurses; Wendy and Jasmine, for their loving care of our Dad and Grandpa. They would also like to thank Timpanogos Hospital and Provo Rehab for the kindness they showed to Bob.
