Richard E. Moore, 84, of Pleasant Grove passed away after a brief illness, March 3, 2013 at home, surrounded by family. He was born February 25, 1929 in Ohio. He Married Faye L. Reynolds in May 1952. They were later sealed in the Manti, LDS Temple.
Richard retired from US Steel Geneva Works after 35 years. He served his country in Korea during the height of the Korean War. He was a master gardener, fisherman, golfer and handyman. He also held many positions in the LDS Church. He was loved by all who knew him and will be sourly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Faye, and 7 children. Vernon and Pam Moore of Bakersfield, CA, Pamela and Val Winegar of Sparks, NV, Patricia and Paul Buttars of Syracuse, Utah, Gary and Deanna Moore of Pleasant Grove, Shellie and David Monsen of Orem, Michael Moore of Pleasant Grove, Jeffry and Christy Moore, of American Fork. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Also survived by one sister, Shirley Fern Nafziger of Ohio.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, March 8, 2013 at the LDS Northfield 3rd Ward Chapel, 2195 North Canyon Road, Pleasant Grove, at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove, on Thursday evening, March 7th from 6 to 8 p.m. and also at the Church one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Special thanks to the staff at American Fork Hospital and I-Care Hospice.
