Maurine Zabriskie

August 12, 1935 ~ January 10, 2013

Maurine Zabriskie of Pleasant Grove, Utah passed away January 9, 2013 in American Fork, Utah.  She was born an only child to Verl and Mary Farnworth Zabriskie in Pleasant Grove on August 12, 1935.

She attended schools in Pleasant Grove and graduated from Pleasant Grove High School.  After graduating from Brigham Young University she moved to Los Angeles, California and worked for Littleton Industries in Technical Publications where she helped produce sound tracks for movies.

When her father became ill in 1974, she moved home to Utah to help her mother care for him.  Following her father’s death in 1975, she remained in Pleasant Grove with her mother as her dear companion until her death in 1990.

Maurine then took over the Zabriskie Custom Wedding Dress business and created hundreds of beautiful dresses.

She was a devoted member of the LDS church.  Her favorite ways to serve were as the Young Women’s President and Camp Director, Relief Society Councilor at the Alpine Valley Care Center and Compassionate Service Leader for the Orchard Ward. Because of her faithful service, many lives were touched.  We are truly blessed to have had her Christ like example in our lives.

Maurine loved everyone and everyone loved her.

A brief memorial service only, will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Orchard Ward Chapel, 828 S. Locust Ave.  Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
